Happy, Happy Birthday

Mike turned the big 2-7 on the 9th of this month. And now you are saying: "why is Jen just now posting about Mike's birthday? Why didn't she post about the wonderful day way back when?" Well, the answer to your pondering is: I'm a lame wife. Not only have I not blogged about the big day, but I didn't make him a cake. Also, he had to remind me to order his present, multiple times (I did score points when it came on time!).

HOWEVER!!! I am the most wonderful wife in the whole, wide world (sorry ladies) because I let him buy this beauty. Behold,

The 50 gallon fish tank!

That is right, my friends. You heard me right. 50. 5-0. HUGE!!! In case you need a little perspective, we needed to clear a space that was 4 feet long for that fish tank. The fish you see in the left of the picture is about 2 inches long. The green grass looking plant in the middle was scratching the top of our other fish tank.

We would have waited until we were in a better apt to get a tank this size, but Mike found a killer deal on craigslist and we couldn't pass it up. Of course, I was leaning towards to not set it up until we were in a better place, but how could I make Mike wait?

So, we put the fish from our other post (about 7 of the babies are still alive) in the tank the other day, and just purchased a couple new fish last night. For anyone who knows about the pet fish world, this is a semi-aggressive fish tank where we have to be careful about what fish we buy. Nice enough to not terrorize the others, but mean enough to hold their own. (It's complicated)

I tried to get more pictures of the fish we have, but they were either moving and blurry, or the whole picture turned out blurry. Maybe that will be my project sometime soon--a fish photo shoot.

And, thanks to my parents and Mike's parents for supplying the birthday funds to allow Mike this purchase!!!
